Auction Format
- Registered bidders will be assigned a bidder number as an identity, for bidding purposes. Their actual name and particulars will be registered with the sales office.
- There will be no reserves; rather, consigners will be able to bid against their own horse. This is intended to emulate the true negotiation process. Consignors wishing to participate this way will have to register as a bidder. Consignors may assign an agent or representative as their primary and sole bidder for buy-back purposes.
- Should the consignor choose to participate as a bidder on his/her own horse for buy-back purposes, he/she will not be allowed to engage an additional party or agent to bid on his/her behalf. This policy is in place to ensure artificial demand does not occur, and will be monitored with a thorough audit of the Transfer Of Ownership papers. (Management of transfer of ownership is done by CWHBA.) Final sales which have been subjected to this practice will be deemed to have failed, at the buyer’s discretion. Consignors found to engage in this practice will not be permitted into future sales.
- We will offer a Buy It Now feature, where a consignor may choose to offer the horse for a set dollar amount, which bidders may opt to exercise at any time before the closing of the auction sale.
- We will offer system-generated Proxy Bidding with a minimum fixed increment of $100.
